Capital One Is Padding EVA Air Transfers by 30% Until July 31

EVA's business class is one of my favorite ways across the Pacific. Until the end of the month, the miles to book it just got 30% cheaper to come by.

I’ve made no secret of it: EVA Air runs one of the most quietly excellent business-class products in the sky, and the food is a genuine event. If you’ve read my LA–Taipei report, you know where I stand.

So here’s a deal worth your attention. Through July 31, Capital One is running a 30% transfer bonus to EVA Air’s Infinity MileageLands program.

Now, the honest part, because the ratio deserves a footnote. EVA is one of the rare Capital One partners that transfers at 0.75-to-1 rather than the usual 1:1. The 30% bonus lifts that to roughly 0.975 to 1 — so 1,000 Capital One miles land as about 975 EVA miles. Not the clean doubling the marketing wants you to feel. But close enough to 1:1 that, for once, EVA miles become genuinely cheap to accumulate.

And EVA miles are worth accumulating. Their award pricing for Star Alliance premium cabins across Asia is among the more reasonable out there, and Royal Laurel business class is the good kind of long-haul — the kind you’re a little sad to land from. Short-haul, it’s still a step above the competition; I broke that down in the Taipei–Shanghai review.

The move here is simple. If you’ve got a specific EVA award in mind — a Royal Laurel seat to Taipei, an intra-Asia hop, a Star Alliance partner redemption — top up your MileageLands balance while the miles are 30% cheaper. If you don’t have a plan, don’t transfer. Speculative transfers into a single airline are how balances go to die.

One rule that never changes: transfers are one-way and final. Confirm your award space is actually there before you move a single mile. Capital One can’t un-ring that bell.

Bonus ends July 31.
